Advancing social finance and inclusive growth with UniCredit Bank Romania

UniCredit Bank Romania joins Enterprising for Tomorrow 2026 as main partner

Enterprising for Tomorrow 2026, the largest conference in Eastern Europe dedicated to the social economy and impact finance, will take place on May 19, 2026, in Iași, bringing together leaders, social entrepreneurs, financiers, companies, public institutions, international experts, non-governmental organizations and relevant actors from the European impact ecosystem.

The fourth edition of the conference is supported by UniCredit Bank Romania as main partner, in a partnership built around a shared vision: developing a fairer, more inclusive economy, more closely connected to the real needs of communities.

Through its Social Impact Banking programme, UniCredit is committed to identifying, financing and promoting people, organizations and businesses that generate positive social impact. This direction is strongly aligned with the mission of Enterprising for Tomorrow, a platform created to bring the social economy, impact finance, social entrepreneurship, inclusion and cross-sector collaboration to the forefront.

Capital that reaches where it can change lives

The social economy proves that economic value and social impact can grow together. Social enterprises create jobs, provide relevant services for communities, support people from vulnerable groups and reinvest the value they create into their social mission.

In this context, the role of financial institutions becomes essential. Access to finance, expertise and networks can directly influence the capacity of impact-driven organizations to grow, become more sustainable and scale their contribution in the community.

Social entrepreneurs are already building the future, often against the odds. Our role is to back them and ensure that they have the financing and support to truly scale their impact. It is time to channel the capital where it truly changes lives and communities. –Simona Petrescu, ESG Director, UniCredit Bank Romania

UniCredit Bank Romania, present in key moments of the conference

UniCredit Bank’s presence at Enterprising for Tomorrow 2026, the fourth edition, will also be reflected in the conference content, through the participation of its representatives in key moments of the programme.

Mihaela Lupu, CEO of UniCredit Bank, will open the conference and bring the perspective of a financial institution with a relevant role in supporting the Romanian economy and connecting capital with initiatives that can generate sustainable development.

Simona Petrescu, ESG Director at UniCredit Bank Romania, will take part in the first panel of the conference, dedicated to the role of the social economy in building a more inclusive, more responsible economy, closer to the real needs of communities.

Valentin Boldeiu, Head of EU Funds at UniCredit Bank, will participate in the panel dedicated to social finance, alongside European leaders and representatives of reference institutions in the field of social finance, including the European Investment Fund.

Through this involvement, UniCredit Bank contributes to one of the essential conversations of this edition: how capital can move closer to social entrepreneurs, impact-driven organizations and communities that need sustainable solutions.

Enterprising for Tomorrow 2026 thus becomes a space where financial expertise, ESG vision, European funding and social entrepreneurship come together to build bridges between real needs, resources and development opportunities.

A partnership for access, connection and impact

UniCredit Bank’s support contributes to maintaining the open character of the conference and to creating a space where organizations with social impact can access know-how, dialogue, visibility and collaboration opportunities.

Enterprising for Tomorrow 2026 will include thematic panels, contributions from European experts, networking moments, the Buy Social Expo and opportunities for social entrepreneurs, companies, financiers, public authorities and community-based organizations to meet.

Buy Social Expo will offer social enterprises a space to present their work, interact directly with the public and access sales opportunities. Behind the products and services showcased are organizations that create jobs for people with disabilities, support children, vulnerable people and local communities, reduce waste and develop sustainable solutions.

Through this partnership, UniCredit Bank Romania supports a platform that brings people together, promotes relevant initiatives and contributes to increasing the visibility of projects with positive social impact.
